Pastor John Hierholzer has shepherded the HCEFree flock through the faithful teaching of God’s word for over 20 years. He and Nancy have two sons, Jonathan and Evan. John has preached verse-by-verse through a number of books in the Bible, including Luke and Philippians which are available in our online audio library. His series on "The Holy Trinity" continues to be among some of the most listened to sermons in our audio library.
Alongside Pastor John is Associate Pastor, Kelly Graham, serving as the primary shepherd of our junior high, high school, and college students, as well as HCEFree's Administrative Pastor responsible for direction and daily operations of church staff. Raised in Oklahoma, Kelly joined HCEFree in May of 2009 after completing his Master's Degree at Dallas Theological Seminary.
Emily Lundquist serves as our Director of Children's Ministries, coming alongside parents in leading children (infant through 5th grade) to Jesus. Emily joined HCEFree in February of 2008. Emily graduated from Crown College in Minnesota where she received a Bachelor of Science in Christian Education. Worship Leader, Mike Childs, has been ministering the gift of leadership in music to HCEFree since 2002. Mike and Diana have three children, Jessica, Chris, and Jason. Diana has faithfully led our women's bible study since 2003. Mike coordinates our blended music ministry with a great love for the Lord.
Our church staff would not be complete without our Administrative Assistants.
Carol Hartmann serves as our Financial Secretary and has faithfully volunteered as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She and Mike are natives of Fredericksburg and have three daughters, Amy, Leslie, and Traci. HCEFree has appreciated Carol's service for over eight years.
Mary Mustard and Eric (one of HCEFree's elders) have three sons, Andrew, Michael, and David. Mary serves as the conduit for many of the happenings in our church family, and leads one of our high school CONVERGE small groups as well. She joined the HCEFree staff in the spring of 2008 and has been attending HCEFree since 1986.
Our staff is assisted by a board of elders working together to meet the spiritual needs of the church, while the board of deacons serves in meeting the church’s physical needs.
